Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Transport Officer (Commodity Logistics and Compliance) assists the Commodity Logistics Manager to coordinate and drive specialist haulage services in an efficient and sustainable manner toward budgeted financial outcomes, including coordination of commodity logistics activities within Mort & Co Transport. The position will work to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence, in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.

This position will require experience in the following:

  • Coordinate logistics, bookings and account administration for the mechanical branch of Mort & Co Transport.
  • Support the Manager (Commodity Logistics) with day-to-day coordination of commodity logistics activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations, maintaining safe work practices in line with company requirements, industry regulations and legislative obligations.
  • Maintain accurate records and high-quality data entry to ensure timely access to information and compliance with internal processes.
  • Promote the Mort & Co brand and values by conducting business professionally and ethically, including participation in local community support programs.
  • With oversight from the Manager (Transport), coordinate NHVR accreditation compliance requirements (drivers, vehicles, permits/devices and systems) and maintain fleet registers (servicing, fault reporting, job completion, stocktake and routine reporting).


ABOUT YOU

This valued position will require a person with strong commitment to safe work and upholding exceptional animal safety and care, with an ability to: 

  • Relevant experience in transport and logistics operations.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Well established leadership and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the management team and demonstrate a united approach to leadership.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle stress and manage time well.
  • Safety focus.
  • Current C licence is essential with a heavy vehicle licence (MC) being highly regarded.
